spring is in the air

April 2nd, 2009 by nebhead

The weather out here is turning a warm 70+ degrees.  Driving home in the evenings with the windows rolled down and the music turned up, I’m reminded why I pay the “California Tax”.  It’s enough to make me want to ditch work early and spend the afternoon hanging at home with all the windows open and the breeze softly blowing the curtains around.  There is a short window of exquisite spring before the summer arrives and we are back to 100 degree scorchers.  Until then, I plan to drink it in one day at a time.

But what’s this?  Rain is coming this weekend?  It can’t be?!  Alas, it is so… and my spring will have to wait for another day.

That’s what I love about my area… winter drags on, yes I love it. It snowed here the other day. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the crisp but warm spring days too. When it starts getting to be the upper 70′s though, I really start to miss the cooler weather. I think that I must belong in Alaska.

It is a lovely day here, and all I want to do is go sit by the ocean. But instead I am here at work, surrounded by cement. I suppose the weekend will come soon.
